We believe in the power of parcel-level analysis, for neighborhoods, cities, counties, states, and countries.
LOVELAND Research is a nonprofit — 501(c)3 pending — inspired by LOVELAND Technologies. We're a separate entity, but we share founders and a belief in the power of parcel-level analysis. Our mission is to ask and answer questions about how we own, tax, develop, and inhabit the Earth.
Mapping global property ownership.
LOVELAND Research's first major initiative is creating an updated database of global property ownership and land use by country, similar to the research in Who Owns The World: The Surprising Truth About Every Piece of Land on The Planet, but extending down to the parcel level where possible. This work builds on the national parcel layer created by LOVELAND Technologies, and was recognized as a finalist in the Aspen Ideas Awards at the 2016 Aspen Ideas Summit.
Our team members have conducted many research projects as part of the LOVELAND Technologies team. These projects were popular enough to create LOVELAND Research as a dedicated nonprofit research institute. We want to help you ask and answer questions about how we own, tax, develop, and inhabit the Earth.
